Personal Library Tour!

Hello Literary/Book-Loving world,

I thought a good first post would be a tour of my personal library.

Click below for the Tour!

Without my usual long-winded rants, here's the first picture:

Here's a full length view of my 5 shelf bookshelf. It's beautiful, I know. Thank you for your kind words.

1st closeup of top of bookcase. I put random crap up here either to keep them out of reach of my younger siblings (i.e. my HS Lacrosse trophies and external harddrive), or becuase I have no clue where else to put them (i.e. my small stack of PS2 games after my ps2 broke and my piggy bank). There's also every issue of my school's arts and literary magazine, Vox, from since I joined in Fall 2009. I am currently the Managing Editor! :-) Visit our website at vox.pace.edu.

First row from top: This is my MANGA shelf! Includes series like Absolute Boyfriend, Boy Princess, W Juliet, Shout out Loud, Happy Huscle High and more.

Second Row: Here the novels begin. They're in alphabetic order...kind of. They started out that way, I swear! Anyway, you can see a few titles like The Plague of the Doves, When Darkness Falls, Anathem, If Today Be Sweet, and Lucky. Some of them I've read, some I haven't.

Third and Fourth Rows: A ton of book with some odds and ends stuffed in. To the right of the 3rd shelf are all of my bills and random letters yet to filed. That olive green thing is my first laptop, which no longer works. There a huge binder, a clipboard. The books in the third row are mostly fiction. The fourth row contains fiction with a large number of class books. I love that as an English major, my "textbooks" can just join my library.

Last/Bottom Row: Bottom row is comprosed of mostly UNREAD books. Last Spring, the Mount Pleasant library in Pleasantville, NY had its biannual book sale. I may have gone just a little overboard. There are five books by Jodi Piccoult: The Pact, Nineteen, Sing You Home, Change of Heart, and Plain Truth, Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks, some Tori Morrison: Beloved, Jazz, and Sula, The Help and more.

SECRET EXPOSED: You may have already been thinking, "Damn, this chick has a lot of books." The secret to my bookshelf, however, is that all of the rows are double stacked, containing TWO rows of books! Not exactly kosher, I know, but I needed to get them all in!

Literarily yours,
Fatuma
